
Birmingham and Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire recently played their county round of the Center Parc's National School Championships. The schools taking part were the winners of their respective School Sport Partnership first round.

Leaminngton and District Badminton Association Junior Tournament
Sponsored and hosted by “Everyone Active” at Stratford Leisure & Visitor Centre on Sunday 30th November.
Following last season's successful tournament sponsored by "Everyone Active", the LDBA are pleased to announce the details of this season's tournament - open to all abilities.
As before, the LDBA will be running a range of age groups - from under 10 through to Under 18 with seperate girls and boys events within each age group.

A record number of schools from across Birmingham and Warwickshire have entered the 2008-2009 Center Parcs National School Championships.
The championships are a great way for schools to get involved in good quality structured competition. Schools progress from SSP rounds to county and regional rounds before hopefully competing at the National Finals in April 2009. Last year King Edwards VI School from Stratford were successful in reaching the National Finals.
All SSP first rounds are due to take place before 12th December 2008.
A total of 65 schools across the region have entered and we wish them all the very best of luck!
The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games officially came to an end on Sunday. To celebrate the beginning of the London Olympiad, Olympic handover events were held in Birmingham and Coventry.
A badminton event, organised by the badminton development officer and Racqueteers Badminton Club, was held in Coventry Cathedral ruins. Local people were able to have a go playing badminton on an outside court and receive free coaching advice.
The NIA was host to 600 badminton players on the 9th & 10th August 2008 at this years Yehlex Birmingham Badminton Bonanza. The event organised by BADMINTON England with the support of Birmingham City Council and sponsorship from Yehlex (UK) was a huge success and was well participated by players from the Warwickshire area.
The Yehlex Badminton Bonanza provides a fun and competitive atmosphere for players at both a SOCIAL and LEAGUE level. There was some excellent performances from players in the Warwickshire area which are highlighted below.
In addition to the main events a Smash Challenge also took place. Many players tested their smash to try and record the fastest speed. The top score was 132mph recorded by Oli Gray.
