Our Heritage

Badminton in Warwickshire has a long history, with records dating all the way back to 1927 - when Mr. F J Atkin and Miss M Walter won the Men's and Lady's Singles Titles at the Warwickshire Restricted Tournament.

We have been fortunate enough to be able to support players from early grassroot beginnings, all the way through to representing England and playing internationally. With the likes of Sam Parsons reaching 61 in the world and winning the National Championships in 2015, Catherine Grant representing the Birmingham Lions in the National Badminton League, and most recently, Robin Harper who started the early stages of his England career in 2024. Other players with England caps include Chris Tonks and Mark Constable.

We are very proud of the development of the Warwickshire Schools Badminton Association (WSBA) and our junior set-up. Enabling access for all levels of junior players and providing a supportive pathway for them to succeed in reaching their ambitions.

The numerous badminton leagues that play within Warwickshire strive to be accessible to players from all walks of life - whether that be a beginner, a juniors, a disability athletes or someone more experienced.
